Pilot project · Service to be prototyped
Private Equilibrition installation
Working independently or in a small business and looking to organise notes, tasks and projects on a private server? Describe your needs so we can assess a paid pilot, with a scope and a quote to be agreed. This service still needs to be prototyped and validated; it is not a turnkey offering.
Remote support is the default. Visits are considered case by case, primarily in mainland France. Other destinations remain possible, with potentially significant travel costs. Arrangements and costs are agreed in the quote before any commitment.
A conversation about your project, not an order or a subscription to the private list.
Discuss my needsWhat this pilot would aim to help you do
Pick up where you left off
Keep notes, decisions and tasks connected to the same project so you can resume work without piecing the context together across several tools.
Choose where your content is hosted
The aim would be to keep your work content on your infrastructure and choose which external connections are useful. Actual data flows would need to be checked during the pilot.
Get help with the setup
Define a concrete use case together, check the requirements and test how it works before considering everyday use. The pilot should help you decide whether this approach suits you.

Organisation and privacy: where would your work content live?
If you want to host your own notes and projects, the Equilibrition pilot is an option to explore. The private installation still needs prototyping, with access, backups and external connections to define.
A private alternative to your organisation tools?
These comparisons are grouped by need to scope a specific workflow, not to declare the tools interchangeable. Compare what you want to retain before considering a private pilot.
Notes and knowledge
Find your notes, connect ideas and keep decisions close to the project. For the pilot, identify essential content and links, formats to retain and search needs. Bringing over your data would need assessment on a sample, with no guaranteed automatic transfer.
Everyday tasks
Capture actions, choose priorities and track what remains to be done. For the pilot, specify the recurring tasks, reminders and mobile workflows you depend on: support would need testing, not an assumption of equivalence with your current tool.
Planning and calendars
Schedule your work across the week around your appointments. For the pilot, distinguish manual planning from expected automation and list the calendar connections you need. Their feasibility and the data they exchange would still need checking.
Small-team projects
Track projects, responsibilities and deadlines in a small business. For the pilot, collaboration, permissions and reporting requirements must be assessed with the team. A private installation does not promise to replace a complete project management suite.
Local files, hosted service or private server?
Obsidian keeps notes as local Markdown files on your device. Official Obsidian overview
A tool built around local files may already meet your needs. This model differs from a hosted SaaS service and the customer server envisaged for Equilibrition, accessed through a browser. Also compare the sync, backups and access you need; a private installation is not automatically a better fit.
Notion lets eligible Enterprise workspaces choose a region for certain data at rest, hosted on AWS. Notion documentation on data residency
European data residency describes a storage location, not an installation on your server. For this pilot, specify who would host and administer the server, and which external connections you would allow.
What we would need to agree on
- A standard installation, not custom software
- The target is the same code as the SaaS, installed with assistance on a Linux server or virtual machine and used through your browser. Hardware, administration and backups still need funding and organisation; responsibilities would be agreed during scoping.
- External data sharing to choose and verify
- Keeping content local is an objective, not an absolute guarantee of privacy or zero data egress. A cloud AI receives the content you send to it. External connections would be chosen with you and their data flows checked before use.
- Local AI, Internet and mobile access
- Local AI is being considered, but is neither delivered nor guaranteed: feasibility depends on hardware and models, among other factors. Some features or integrations may need Internet access. Mobile access would depend on a secure network connection to the server; fully offline operation is not promised.
- Usage terms still to be defined
- An enduring right to use a version is being considered, without ownership of the code or any licence commitment at this stage. Its terms and the rights covering dependencies would need to be clarified before any agreement.
- A paid pilot, following scoping and a quote
- The first step is to qualify your needs and feasibility, then agree on a scope and a quote. Installation, software updates and optional assistance are separate services, to be quoted and agreed separately. No price has been set, no savings are promised, and future updates are not guaranteed.
Before considering a private installation
How do self-hosting and on-premises installation differ?
Self-hosting can use your own server or a rented virtual machine with a hosting provider you choose. An on-premises installation means the server is on your premises, not that a physical visit by Joseph is included or guaranteed. Support is remote-first. On-site visits are assessed case by case, primarily in mainland France. Other destinations remain possible, with potentially significant travel costs. Arrangements and costs are agreed in the quote before any commitment. For the Equilibrition pilot, specify your intended setup and who would administer it.
Can I install Equilibrition on a private server now?
Not as a turnkey solution: this service still needs to be prototyped and validated. Describe your uses, infrastructure and constraints so we can assess a paid pilot. Feasibility, scope and a quote must be agreed before any commitment.
Does self-hosting guarantee privacy?
No, choosing the server alone does not guarantee privacy. Access, backups, updates and data sharing with external services also need to be defined. These responsibilities and actual data flows would need checking during the pilot.
Would local AI let me work entirely offline?
Not necessarily: local AI is being considered, but feasibility depends on hardware and models. Some features or integrations may need Internet access. Neither local AI nor fully offline operation is guaranteed for this pilot.
Would this pilot replace all my current tools?
No, the pilot would target a bounded workflow, not feature parity with every tool or replacement of a complete suite. List essential features, integrations and collaboration or permissions requirements to assess feasibility. Bringing over data would need testing; no automatic transfer is guaranteed.
Could a local-first tool be enough without a private server?
Yes, depending on your workflow: Obsidian, for example, keeps notes in local Markdown files. If that meets your needs, a private server may not be necessary. Compare the access, sync and backups you need. The Equilibrition pilot would envisage an application on a server accessed through a browser, not the same local-file model or a guarantee of offline operation.
