Step 5 — The Equilibrition Method

Weekly reviewReview and clarify what comes next

The review has a bad reputation because it is often experienced as a two-hour meeting with yourself that ends with an even longer new to-do list. That is not what it should be.

A well-done review is a relief, not an additional burden. It serves to close open loops, recalibrate priorities, and enter the next week with clarity — rather than starting from scratch every Monday morning.

The daily shutdown

At the end of the day, before closing tools: empty the inbox, mark completed tasks, check tomorrow's schedule. This ritual takes 5 to 10 minutes. Its benefit: you stop working with a clear head — not continuing to think about what was left hanging.

The weekly review

Once a week — often Friday or Sunday evening — you review the past week and prepare the next one. What moved forward? What is stalling and why? What are the two or three absolute priorities for the coming week? This review should not exceed 15 minutes when the system is up to date.

Recalibrate projects

The review is also the moment to look at active projects: are they progressing? Are the planned tasks realistic? Do priorities need revisiting? This high-frequency view — once a week — prevents important projects from drifting silently.

Continuous clarity

Each review reduces the mental load of the following week. When the system is maintained regularly, it takes no more than 15 minutes a week to stay clean. Clarity becomes the norm, not the exception reserved for the aftermath of major reorganisations.
