Migrate from Motion to Equilibrition without promising magic automation

Motion automatically schedules tasks, projects, and time blocks. Because it does not document a complete one-click CSV or JSON export, the published migration must stay explicit and reviewable.

Starting format

Guided CSV from tasks and projects

CSV

CSV import available today

The reliable path today is to prepare a CSV from Motion's exportable tasks, projects, and reports, import that CSV into Equilibrition, then review fields and related calendar blocks.

Path

The 3 migration steps

1

Export from Motion

Gather the tasks, projects, and scheduling information Motion allows you to export or copy cleanly. Do not use an API key for today's published CSV path.

  • Keep workspaces and projects in separate columns to avoid mixing context.
  • Include dates, durations, priorities, and statuses visible in Motion.
2

Import the CSV into Equilibrition

CSV import works today. Import the prepared file to create projects, tasks, recurrence, and scheduling metadata, without promising a native Motion connector.

  • Scheduling rules become preferences or metadata.
  • Comments and custom fields stay attached as context when available.
3

Review the mapping

Compare active projects, recurring tasks, deadlines, durations, and priorities. Documents not exposed by Motion remain manual follow-up when needed.

  • Scheduling rules are not copied exactly.
  • A future connector must remain temporary, encrypted, and strictly deleted after migration.

Watchouts

Limits to know before importing

  • Motion does not currently document a complete one-click CSV or JSON export.
  • Documents and knowledge content are migrated only if a user export provides them.
  • Scheduling rules become preferences or are recreated with guidance, not cloned.

Coming later

A more automated Motion import is being deployed; until it is available, this guide stays limited to prepared and reviewed CSV import.
